5 Reasons Why I Love My Webhost
Are your looking for a good web-host?
Findng a good webhost is critical to the success of your internet business. It is hard work doing research and reviews on the various web-host that are around. I know, because before I signed up for my web-hosting, I actually spent weeks researching online for the best and most affordable web-host. Finally, I decided on one of the cheapest reseller web-host for unlimited domain hosting (not my current webhost, it’s another company) and signed up for it.
Well, it wasn’t success at first strike. In fact, I had a little heart attack when I got my account. Being a newbie, I needed instructions and lots of information on setting up my account. These are available but not in a user friendly format. I have to log in to view some flash movies (with no sound) that does the job badly. Well okay, I thought I’ll contact their tech support and try their live chat. It was utterly horrible, the live chat pop-up disappears after I type in my questions — and basically went dead. The tech support does reply within one day, but they came back with incomplete sloppy replies like “What do you mean by this and that?” even though the information was in my first message. There was also no forum that I can turn to. After more than one week of trying, and nearly pulling all my hair out, I asked for my refund. To their credit, they did refund my money promptly. Thank goodness for that!
Hence, I was back to square one again. But this time around, I read some good reviews and chose my current host. After being with them for more than 6 months, I have absolutely no regrets. Here are the reasons why I love them.
1) Affordable Pricing. At $6.95 per month, there is no need to bust your wallet for unlimited domain hosting, unlimited sub-domains and with one free domain thrown in.
2) Feature packed. Unlimited add-on domains and sub-domains, unlimited parked domains, 1,500GB storage, 6000GB site transfer (means that you don’t have to wait ages for your files to be uploaded; a wordpress theme takes only about 10 seconds to upload), MySQL database, CPanel Fantastico (which allows you to install Wordpress with a few clicks), easy to use site builder, SSL secure server, and free shopping cart…just to name a few. It even provides anonymous hosting of your domain when you register your domain with them to protect your privacy.
3) User friendly. The control panel is user friendly and easy to navigate. For each icon, there is a brief explanation on it which is great for newbies. There is also an active forum where users share tips and help one another. You can post your problems in the forum to seek advice and help. While getting your own web-hosting is always a steep learning curve, all these user friendly features make the transition relatively painless.
4) Great 24/7 tech support. My web-host has toll-free hotline, 24/7 support and live chat. Most importantly, their live chat works! This is soooo important for non-US based webmasters like us because we can’t use the toll-free hotline (it’s not toll-free for us) and I used the live chat whenever I need help and tech support. So far, my experience with their tech support staff has been positive as I find them competent and polite.
5) Free Promotion. It helps that they also give away FREE $50 Yahoo credits and $50 Google credits for your site pomotion. All you need to do is to pay $5 each to register for pay-per-click accounts with Yahoo and Google. Now who doesn’t like free traffic and free marketing?
Am I a satisfied customer? You bet! Well, it is not surprising considering that they are also the winner of numerous awards such as Best Support 2008, Best Customer Service 2006, Best Web-hosting Award 2006, 2005 Web Host of the Year… just to name a few.

My First ClickBank Paycheck
This is a great start for a new year
I just got back from my holidays. When I checked my mailbox, the first letter that I noticed was the one from Clickbank. Finally, it is here!
Yes, my very first payment for my internet marketing efforts — $117.37. Not a huge amount but it is of great significance to me. At last, I have something tangible, a reward to keep me going.
I thought of framing it up, but CH wouldn’t hear of it. Being the pragmatist, he insisted that I bank in the cheque. Alright, so my next task is to find a bank that charges the lowest possible fee in Singapore to bank in a US cheque. Anybody has any good suggestion?
My new year resolution for this year is to do better in IM and I hope to achieve $3000 a month. Is that too ambitious a goal? I hope not. I really believe that it is possible if one takes action on it.
For the past few months, I have been educating myself on internet marketing and reading up voraciously. It was hard work trying to fend off all the distractions and get some real work done. Hence, my second new year resolution is to be more focused and more productive. I hope to put up more websites and get my money worth from my web-hosting. Afterall, I am paying for unlimited website hosting so might as well make full use of my $6.95, right?
Anyway, here’s wishing you a great year 2008, filled with fun, love and happiness!

Marketing Online Secrets Has a New Look!
Hi! I am sorry if you have any problem accessing my blog for the past few days. I am currently in the process of moving my blog from blogger to self-hosted wordpress.
While the moving process is actually quite painless (you can export all your blogger post over to wordpress with just a few clicks), the setting up of the wordpress blog takes quite some time. This is because there is so many things that one can play with with wordpress.
There are hundreds of pretty wordpress themes I can choose from and I became Alice in Wonderland, trying out one new outfit after another. Then there are many interesting plugins that I can tinker around. While installing some of these plugins, my blog sometimes become temporarily inaccessible. Hope everything is working fine now.
It is Christmas next week. I’ll be spending my Christmas in Australia. So in case I don’t write again, here’s wishing all Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
